About the Business
At SashWise we are dedicated to restoring the character of your property and increasing the value of your home and recognise the importance of wooden box-sash windows to our architectural heritage and our team of highly skilled craftsmen are dedicated to return these historic features to their original beauty. We have a longstanding history of the sympathetic repair and refurbishment of sash windows in many Georgian town houses and Victorian terraces.
Box-sash windows were first introduced into Britain in the late 17th century and many houses in West London still retain them in their original form. One of the earliest examples is that of Ham House, built in 1610 and home to the extravagant Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale it symbolises one of the most outstanding Stuart houses from that period. The property was extended in the 1670s and box-sash windows were installed throughout, firmly cementing them in the architectural legacy of West London.
